I have been using Interstate batteries for several years now with a pretty good success rate as they last at least 5 years, often longer. The next time I do buy one, in the next 5-7 years as I just bought a new one for my 8N a year ago, I am going to get a DEKA and go with them for comparison. The trick is as Bruce states is to maintain them with a battery tender and fire up the machines every 30 days to keep them from discharging. I haven't needed to plow snow here in the Michigan Thumb region since December, thank God as I broke my Dearborn Back Blade then. I do go out every two weeks and fire up the 8N and drive it around the neighborhood for a few hours, head back into the woods, and visit neighbors. This is my ski-doo, so although no snow, I love driving the tractor anytime.
