I think the 841 is a really good working tractor, and is the only 80x model that you can add a Sherman combo transmission to. It's a good loader tractor, if it has power steering.
One red flag - he said he did "...a nice job on it...." - but, he painted the plug wires, distributor cap and more. Those kind of paint jobs on a tractor for sale often cover things up like leaks, cracks, etc. I would look at it in person, start it, drive it in all gears, put an implement on it and raise it and see if it drifts down - the usual due diligence when buying a used tractor but maybe more given that type of paint job. If it checked out, I would only offer $3,500. You can now find good working Thousand Series tractors in this price range and I'd take one of them over this all day, every day.
