Ive found these gears with teeth worn sharp like a saw blade 180 degrees apart while the rest of the teeth looked good.Bakelite is the material the gears are made from.The gears are press on and have crank shaft and cam gear marks.early Ford V8 engines used the same gear.Count the teeth to make sure you have the right gear.You will have to remove the camshaft, valves and tappets.Too long a bolt on the gear cover will ruin your new gear.Old gear will have to be pressed off.New gear pressed on.Machine shop best.
