After 41 years of service I retired as a locomotive engineer in May of 2014. You don't get a much rougher ride then that. Last January I went for a wellness check at the doctors. My PSA was 0.7 two years ago when I retired. This time it was 4.7 just outside the normal range for my age of 62. The digital exam revealed two nodgels on the prostate. Long story short, I had my prostate removed after confirming it was cancer in April. The biopsy revealed it to be a very aggressively type of cancer. I was told the younger you are generally the more agresive the cancer is. I am 10 months out and cancer free now. My brother is 70 and has a PSA of 19 and he doesn't have a speck of cancer. PSA is just a guide and you need to be vigilant. Trust your doctor.
