Thank you S-O-S!!! It is an early 8N, restored by me in 2003. The casting code on the block is I167 which translates to September 16, 1947 as casting date of block. Therefore the actual build date of the tractor would have been on or around October 14, 1947. That date is significant in US and Aviation History as the day Chuck Yeager first broke the sound barrier. I have it as all original as much as possible including the repop Firestone Champion Guide Grip rear tires, correct for '48 and '49 8Ns. The Dearborn 12" 10-8 Plow I also restored, but did use it a few times when I first got it. Since the rear moldboard had been cracked and welded at one time prior to me buying it, I decided to just restore it and display with my 8N at shows. Great hobby tractor collecting and restoring isn't it???!!!
