The piece I use has a flat bar thru the links at hitch end. I use a length of rope tied to each end of it and do a overhand loop over a ball on LGT hitch. This allows for good turning action. The tail end of the piece has a 2X4 attached to the top side to give a slight drag effect and to stabilize the chain link. SoS.
