I have a ferguson 10H plow. I'm trying to work with it in fairly messy ground that hasn't been worked in a long time with lots of dead grass and trash on it. Mostly it gets clogged up or the furrow opens then closes back up again.I looked through the manuals and didn't see one for this plow., it's sort of like the Dearborn ones but I think smaller. I have a 3 bottom dearborn plow too but it needs to be freed up and one of the points is broken and since i'm wanting to use the 2n to plow with I think it's too big. The points on these 2 plows are different and I was wondering about sharpness. on the dearborn the points are sort of chisel shaped on then end and on the fergusson they are more rounded shaped. How sharp should these be and could this be my problem?
I really need to get this going while the weather is good. There is a small section of about 2 acres I'm trying this out on initially and not had luck. I used the rototiller and that works but i'd take all summer to do it that way on the 20 or so acres I need to do when this is working right.
heres the plow and also a video from today when I tried the plow on my B275 thinking more power might be the ticket .. it wasn't :)
Hope the links work.
