I didn't look at Just8ns but you are correct that they do have the 5/8-18 HEX HEAD axle bolts. The Dennis Carpenter LINK I posted has the 5/8-18 Carriage Bolts exactly like the originals. You may find casting date code tags on the axle trumpets too. If you had carriage bolts and square holes on your fenders, you may have had the FORD script on the fenders too which would also mean 1950 or later. Here's the thing, the hex bolts will work fine on the late fenders. If you had no problems with the carriage bolts, they will work fine as well and the DC kit is on my other post for those. Since you have a few other major issue, I wouldn't worry about the fenders being 100% correct. By all accounts on what you've said about your 8N, I have no doubt it is a '49. But you aren't doing a complete, total restoration are you? See LINK below for Grade 5 bolts, at $3 apiece. They are partially threaded which will work fine. If you want to pay an extra $10 per bolt, you can get a fully threaded one as well.
