The Dearborn Swinging Drawbar was released with the 8N model. Every 8N and NAA came with the 8N-802 Clevis Bracket and Pin mounted underneath diffy case, BUT the drawbar itself was an optional dealer accessory. In 1954 Ford revamped the clevis and drawbar to a much better design. The old style required the 9N-5182 11-Hole Drawbar to use and both drawbars had to be removed when using many implements like a plow, disc or cultivator. With the redesigned unit, the swinging drawbar could be left mounted in the clevis and not interfere when switching from a pull type to a lift type implement. The newly designed unit was introduced with the 600-800 Models but could easily adapt to the 8N and NAA as well. NOTE: The 9N and 2N models had no provision for the clevis but many farmers made their own and later and some fellas today make and sell one as well. The redesigned FORD clevis and swinging drawbar is the style made and sold today at every part supplier outlet. Kits include the drawbar, the clevis, the pin, and check chain. Both styles of clevis brackets will mount to the diffy case but their respective parts do not interchange. The VEE-BAR was a HD drawbar. JUST8NS makes and sells the 8N-804 Pin for the 8N-802 Clevis.
