Ford did NOT have a better idea on this one
Ford recently dropped the price on their EV F-150's by $10,000 and still cannot move them off the lots.

BINGO! Ford (and others) well knew that EVs were not the solution and making money producing such would be difficult it not impossible. Manufacturers knuckled under due to intense pressure from the federales.
