  • I got a 9N at an online auction. It is the most mixed up bag of parts i've ever had. Its like Johnny cash's Caddy. Pretty sure it started life as a 39 9n but it must have had a rough life. It has a 39 transmission and steering box/dash but the 4 spoke wheel is gone and a newer 2n wheel is there. it has a 39 steel hood and smooth doglegs but a newer gas tank. the big tank rad is there with the original cap. It has an early cast iron axle support and axle beam but has 41 up knees. The whole rear end including the fenders are 2N parts but it has an 8N 3 hole rocker on it. Engine block is from a 48 8N but has a 9N head. It has 32inchers on the back with a rotted hat rim on the right and a spectacularly perfect 39 loop rim and 12 hole center on the left. It was stored indoors for years. Engine is free, tires are good and it rolls and steers nice. the brakes are even dry and seem to work well. Going to have a go at getting it running and go from there.

  • Kevin, I would be very interested in the 32" loop rim as I have one and need another.

  • I'm guessing that your experience is more common than not. Many parts are interchangeable among the three models and farmers/owners would swap in parts from other models to keep their tractor working. Best of luck with it!
