  • Advise on removing head
  • Hello, hoping for any tips and advice concerning removing the head for gasket renewal. The nuts are on pretty tight and I don`t want to put too much force on them and snap a stud. There is some water leakage just under the radiator hose at the front of the block and should be corrected on my 2n Ford. Would "Stop Leak" that people used to seal a radiator leak Years ago work? Just a thought. Any heat I would use would be from a small propane torch. I have been soaking the nuts with penetrating oil the last few days. Thanks for any help you can give me. Tom Craig

  • Don't put any of that crap in your cooling system. Heat and PB Blaster on the nuts. Once you get them all removed, put a couple back on w/ 1 or 2 turns, put the plugs back in and spin the starter. That will blow the head loose.
